PREempt was born from a scientific endeavor by Virox Technologies, a Canadian company that developed a patented technology in 1998: accelerated hydrogen peroxide (AHP). The idea behind this innovation was to solve a long-standing trade-off in disinfection—finding a product that is both highly effective against pathogens and non-irritating to users' skin and eyes. The product simply decomposes into water and oxygen after use, reducing its environmental impact compared to traditional chlorine- or ammonium-based disinfectants.
